Is the coffee good quality?
Short answer: yes. We spent a long time making sure of it.
Every can starts with a double shot of premium brewed coffee. No half measures. We chose Brazilian Arabica beans specifically. Arabica for the naturally smooth, less aggressive caffeine delivery, Brazilian for the bold, rich flavour that holds up beautifully cold.
Does it taste like mushrooms?
Spoiler: you won't taste the mushroom.
New Zealand Lion's Mane is extracted and infused into the coffee at production, so there's no earthy or mushroom aftertaste.
What you will taste is a smooth, full-bodied iced latte, bold coffee, creamy milk, slightly sweet. If you handed it to someone without telling them what was in it, they'd just say it's a really good iced coffee.
What is Lion's Mane and why does it matter?
Lion's Mane is the world's most researched mushroom for brain health.
Our New Zealand Lion's Mane (Hericium Novae-Zealandiae) is grown at our own farm in Raglan and contains bioactives, the same compounds that have made New Zealand Lion's Mane one of the most studied functional mushrooms in the world.
Each can contains a full 1g dose.
Is this just a gimmick?
Fair question. The functional beverage market has a lot of products that put a token amount of an ingredient on the label and call it functional.
